According to defense sources, alert soldiers spotted a group of terrorists trying to enter Indian territory in the wee hours of Thursday. The army immediately launched a search operation in the surrounding area to ensure that no other terrorist was hiding in the area.
Additional security forces have been deployed at the spot. Rural areas and forests are being thoroughly searched. Joint teams of army and police are investigating which route the terrorists came from and what kind of weapons they had. Officials say that the anti-terrorism operation is still going on and the area is being closely monitored.
Terrorist activities are being constantly monitored in Bandipora. Earlier this month, the security forces had registered a major success under Operation Akhal. In the encounter on August 2, three terrorists were killed, while a soldier was injured. Earlier also, three terrorists were killed in the operation. In this way, a total of six terrorists were killed in that entire operation.
Defense officials say that attempts are being made continuously from Pakistan to infiltrate, but due to the alertness of the Indian Army, terrorists are failing in their plans. Recent operations have made it clear that immediate action is being taken on any kind of activity on the border.
